On the show we're sipping Pirate's Champagne (recipe below), talking about the best of 2013 and looking ahead to 2014. We also compare notes on beating the post-Christmas blues; Kelsey has the Crackling Fireplace on her TV and it's keeping her cozy (but not very warm).

In neighborhood news there's lots of sawing going on...do you guys have suggestions of what we should do about a noisy neighbor?

Speaking of current obsessions, Kelsey's obsessed with a recipe for Christmas Quiche and Erica's in love with her Kindle Paperwhite (thanks, Santa!).

Pirate's Champagne
adapted from A Fabulous Fete

1/4 oz honey
juice of half a lemon
1/2 oz of rum
Champagne or Prosecco

In a shaker filled with ice, mix the rum with the lemon juice and honey. Shake well and pour into a glass. Top with 4 - 5 ounces of Champagne or Prosecco and enjoy!

*A cautionary note: I tried to add the Prosecco to the cocktail shaker first, and then shake. Doesn't work. The fizz from the bubbly pushes the top of the shaker off and creates a big mess. Top with Champagne or Prosecco after the rest has already been shaken up and added to the glass. You're welcome.
