Expecting & Horse T-Shirts

Kelsey makes it podcast official - she's pregnant! So, like we've secretly done for a few episodes, Kelsey had a mocktail version of this refreshing cocktail, and Erica's was fully loaded...

Cherry Tarragon Fizz (adapted from Cider & Rye)

makes 1 drink, also great with gin omitted for a mocktail version

  • 6-8 cherries
  • 3 leaves of French tarragon
  • 1 ounce lime juice (about 2 limes)
  • 1 ounce simple syrup
  • 2 ounces gin
  • seltzer or club soda

In a shaker, muddle the cherries with stems removed, but pits intact. Add the tarragon leaves, lime juice, and simple syrup; muddle gently. Add the gin, bitters, and ice to the jar. Cover tightly with a lid and shake well. Strain into ice-filled glasses. Top each glass with seltzer, and stir gently. Garnish with lime wedge or wheel.

Both the Girls Next Door are expecting! Kelsey is about 17 weeks along, and Erica is expecting two siblings through adoption. So we're talking all things pregnancy, adoption, and being expectant mamas-to-be.

We talk about nesting, and how we're preparing our homes and lives for some big changes. We chat about how we're rearranging bedrooms, simplifying, and baby-proofing along with dishing about what makes us most excited and most nervous, and how we're feeling about adding some family members.

In keeping with the "expecting" theme, for current obsessions we thought it'd be fun to focus on what we're obsessed with both as expectant mamas, and what we were obsessed with ourselves as kids.

In neighborhood news we're discussing monsoon season here in the desert, an update on the awkward tree conversation with Saw Guy, and another neighbor's unorthodox car washing methods (perhaps we'll call him Bluetooth Guy).
