This episode is dedicated to our discussion of The Girl on The Train by Paula Hawkins. We sipped on a book-inspired cocktail while we chatted about this page turner.
Classic Gin and Tonic (adapted from the Kitchn)
makes 1 drink
- 2 oz gin
- 2 oz tonic (go for high quality! we used Fever Tree, or try Q tonic)
- squeeze of lime
Combine gin, tonic and club soda over ice and stir. Top with a squeeze of lime and garnish with a lime wedge
Kelsey gave the book a B-. She felt drawn into the book, had to know what was going to happen and enjoyed the suspense. However the ending felt cliched and wanted Rachel's character to have a more hopeful end.
Erica also gave it a B-. It was a page turner with an interesting narrator's perspective and just the right amount of creepiness, but the end was a bit too tidy and predictable for her.
We share some listener input on the book, along with some of our favorite and most cringe-worthy parts.
Thanks so much for listening and joining us for book club!
